How to delete your data
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how, and what happens next.
1. Send us a request
Use any of these:
- Email info@guwit.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
- WhatsApp +234 704 164 9942.
Tell us:
- which service you used: the language project app, or a customer service bot (and which organisation's);
- your Telegram username or the phone number you used on WhatsApp, so we can find your data;
- what you want deleted: everything, or only your recordings, translations or conversations.
2. Language project contributors
You can also delete recordings that are still waiting for a check yourself, in the app under Me → My recordings.
3. What happens next
- We may ask you to confirm the request from the same Telegram account or phone number, to protect you from someone else deleting your data.
- Within 30 days we delete the data from our databases and storage, and from backups as they are replaced.
- We confirm by email or message when it is done.
4. What we may keep
- Payment records we must keep by law (amounts and dates, not your recordings).
- Contributions already included in datasets delivered to customers before your request. We remove them from all future versions, but cannot recall copies already delivered. Those copies never contain your name, phone number or username.
More detail is in our privacy policy.
